The goal: to inspire the creation of great places that engage people's emotions and keep them coming back.

Landscape/Urban Design

In the words of San Francisco Chronicle Design Critic John King, "it's not so much whether this style or that one might be the right one, but more so, does this place have a spark that will mature, and how do you create new places that feel as enticing as the neighborhoods before it." This session will explore the critical value of the public realm and creating 'social capital' for successful private development, and how landscape architects can lead a process with public, private and non-profit partners to shape environments that lead to economic success.
