Brad Cummings is the founder and Managing Partner of Matador Equity Partners, LLC (“MEP”). MEP is a Denver based real estate investment, development, and asset management company. The company’s investment strategy is to acquire and operate middle market sized core-plus, value-add, and opportunistic projects across the United States, concentrating on “next tier” secondary lifestyle markets like Denver and Nashville. MEP is the co-founding sponsor of an international partnership named CAC Partners LLC, as well as a programmatic operating partner for a US private equity capital source backed by a family office.
Since formation, MEP has closed on thirteen investment properties totaling $270,000,000 of consideration. The properties have been located throughout Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Denver, and most recently Nashville. MEP is currently managing two multi-tenant office buildings in the Denver market totaling ~350,000 SF and a complicated land assemblage and entitlement strategy in Nashville.
Prior to forming MEP, Brad spent two years as a Principal at Newcastle Partners, a boutique real estate investment and development company based in San Francisco. His role was to expand institutional joint venture relationships to move from a deal by deal capital raise process to programmatic partnerships.
Most notably, Brad spent nine years at CBRE Global Investors where he served as Senior Director of acquisitions, developments, and joint ventures for the West Coast. He was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, due diligence and closing commercial (office/industrial/retail) investments as well as managing a team of six investment professionals. During his tenure, he completed over 45 acquisitions totaling $2.4B on behalf of the company’s various account/fund clients. He also served on the Global Investment Committee for three years, responsible for the administration and execution of senior executive decisions for the entire global platform (APAC, EMEA, Americas).
Mr. Cummings graduated from Boston University’s School of Management with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship.
