Clayton is the Director of the Construction Practice Group for IMA Financial Group, the 3rd largest privately held insurance broker in the United States, specializing in the areas of Construction and Risk Management. The Construction Practice Group works with developers, general contractors and subcontractors on a variety of projects in the region.
Clayton is a national speaker on construction defect litigation, risk management and insurance coverage. He was involved in the drafting and lobbying of Colorado’s Construction Defect Action Reform Act (CDARA II) signed into law in 2003, Colorado’s Anti-Indemnity Statute enacted in 2007 and HB1394 specifically dealing with residential coverage issues enacted in 2010.
Clayton received his B.S. degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii and his J.D. degree from the University of Hawaii School of Law. Clayton’s legal experience focused upon representing general contractors in a variety of matters and on insurance coverage issues on behalf of policyholders.
