Jeff Darnell became the Director at PCL Construction in 2019. As a Director, Jeff is responsible for analyzing, developing, and leading sales & marketing initiatives. Since joining PCL, the region has more than quadrupled in size through strategic growth efforts and a focus on building high-performance teams.
Jeff began developing critical leadership skills early in his career. As a Western U.S. Regional Manager with Johnson Controls, Inc., he restructured a growing and diverse team resulting in a significant expansion of the Major Projects business unit. After joining Hensel Phelps as Director in 2011, business revenue tripled due to strategic repositioning.
Jeff has concentrated on building meaningful relationships in his professional and personal life. He believes that mutual respect and understanding preserve the best interest of all through strategic shifts and effective team building.
In 2014, Jeff founded the Northern Starz competitive basketball program for girls in Northern Colorado. The program encourages girls to cultivate a passion for sports, embrace teamwork, and develop vital social skills.
Family and community is important to Jeff. When he is not at a family sporting event, he is active in his community and supports numerous organizations professionally and personally, such as NOCO Unify, Mile High United Way, and various Colorado youth sporting teams.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree with a minor in Business Administration and Mathematics from the University of Wyoming. Before becoming a Poke, Jeff played for the men’s basketball team at Chadron State College.
