For more than 20 years, Julie Edwards has been a champion of sustainability in the local community. As a senior sustainability consultant at Mead & Hunt, she is developing strategic, holistic, sustainability initiatives to drive change and create sustainable communities and cities. She works on a variety of project scales and project types – including office, civic, hospitality, higher education, airports and more. She enjoys engaging with clients to develop sustainability goals and strives to simplify and demystify the sustainability process. Julie has worked on 100+ certification projects, a number of which achieved Platinum status. Her experience with LEED, Green Globes, Energy Star, Enterprise Green Communities, WELL, CHPS, and many other rating systems gives her a broad perspective on pathways to success.

She is a strong supporter of local sustainability organizations. A long-term member of USGBC Colorado, she has served as a Board Member for USGBC Colorado twice and lead the Colorado Education Committee for several years. Her past roles with USGBC include leading planning committees for the 2005 International Greenbuild Conference in Denver and participating in the Regional Task Force for proposing new regional LEED credits. Julie also participates in the ULI CO Building Healthy Places committee where she volunteered to serve on the technical advisor board for several community improvement projects in the state. Julie Co-authored the Aging in Place Guidelines and Toolkit for Enterprise Green Communities. She has authored articles for local publications, led project tours and been a speaker for regional conferences.

Julie has a Bachelor of Environmental Design/Architecture from the University of Colorado Boulder. She is a current LEED Accredited Professional, WELL Accredited Professional, and EcoDistricts/Just Communities Accredited Professional.
