Through education and experience, Joel Scott utilizes a depth of construction experience that has facilitated a career path of increasingly complex tasks.  From heading up very large teams to smaller project groups; integrity, credibility and collaboration are the basis of foundations for Joel Scott’s successful project outcomes.  Focus, commitment and responsibility are basic moral standards rooted in his professional understanding.  His perspective reflects strongly on his portfolio of engineering and fiscal management experience.  This formula of personal proficiency resulted in his current position as CEO of Murray & Stafford, Inc.

In less than a decade, Scott’s influence on the Company has been celebrated.  Murray & Stafford’s volume increased 200 percent and its reputation as Colorado’s key tilt-up constructor emerged.  He has built almost 10 million square feet of concrete structure for a variety of commercial applications; qualifying him as an unquestioned expert in this building methodology.

Joel’s history as a native Coloradan established his interest in native soils and their characteristics.  Impact of harsh temperature extremes and snow load familiarity imposes an instinctive understanding of subsurface and roof stress conditions.  A Civil Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines adds academics to his intuition and expertise.

Recognizing success is not comprised of building, but building a track record of on-time and on-budget projects.  Joel excels in value-engineering, design-build strategies, and team building tactics. He works directly with the client, project design team and jurisdiction to create a cost effective design. The results of said expertise have been rewarding as some 90 percent of recent Murray & Stafford projects result from repeat customers.  Some of those customers are Colorado’s esteemed profiles including ProLogis, Forest City Stapleton, Johnson Group, Audi, Anheuser-Busch, Serta, Whirlpool, Ford and Coors.

Joel serves as the General Contractor’s contact person as a Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Scott is responsible for leading the project from client’s needs and requirements to developing conceptual ideas, establishing quality relations, Contract negotiations, estimating, scheduling, purchasing, and job supervision.  The combination of his focus on client relations as well as approving agencies generates great success.  Joel maintains direct communication with clients concerning overall project performance, providing design input for cost effective and efficient project solutions in all phases of the project and overseeing work performed by project engineers and design engineers.  He seeks and understands client needs then answers them with solutions whether it is consulting, scheduling, troubleshooting oversights, completing a project or pre-construction services for your next project.
