Katie Newman is a Vice President of Development at Meridian based in Seattle, Washington. Katie is responsible for the development activities in the Pacific Northwest. She has spent over 20 years in the design, construction, and development industry, and has managed the development of over 1 million square feet of healthcare real estate, including medical office buildings, surgery centers, and senior housing facilities. Katie began her career as an architect, designing and building projects across multiple markets throughout the country.
Prior to joining Meridian, Katie worked for Hammes Partners where she specialized in the sourcing and execution of healthcare real estate deals. She also worked as a developer with Caddis Partners, and an architect with The Beck Group as well as her own private practice. She has worked extensively across all aspects of the real estate process, including the purchase of real estate or ground lease execution, site due diligence, entitlements, execution of engagements with project consultants, pro forma development, debt and equity financing, leasing, and project and construction management. Through this wide range of experience, she is able to provide each project with high touch attention while keeping an eye on the process as a whole.
Katie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Rice University, and an MBA in Real Estate and Strategy from Southern Methodist University. She is a licensed architect in the State of Texas and a LEED Accredited Professional.
