Mike Ruhl has more than 30 years of real estate development experience in the Seattle market,
including 20 years of development expertise and 10 years dedicated to life science real estate.
Mr. Ruhl serves as BioMed Realty’s Vice President of Leasing and market lead for the company’s Seattle and Boulder core markets. Those markets encompass 1.7 million square feet of operating portfolio, 750,000 square feet of in-process development, and another 1.3 million square feet in the pre-development pipeline.
In Seattle, BioMed Realty recently completed Dexter Yard in Seattle – a 500,000-square-foot lab and office building consisting two 15-story towers to accommodate both technology and life sciences users. In April 2022, BioMed Realty acquired Flatiron Park, a one million square foot campus in Boulder. Recent acquisitions will expand the company’s footprint in the park to 1.3 million square feet of office and lab space.
Mr. Ruhl is a Board Member on the Runstad Department of Real Estate within the University of Washington College of Built Environment. He is also a member of the Life Science Washington organization, which is focused on helping grow the state’s life science economy by bringing together research institutions, investors, and innovators. Mr. Ruhl earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Seattle University.
