Samantha Lichtin is a Building Electrification Program Administrator for the City and County of Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability, & Resiliency, where she leads building electrification industry relations and supports regulatory engagement at the state Public Utilities Commission. The start of her career was spent working on Colorado state-level climate and energy policy, as a staffer for the State Senate Democratic Caucus, a policy fellow in then-Governor Hickenlooper’s Office of Policy & Research, and as legislative liaison for the Colorado Energy Office. While at the Energy Office, she supported early development of the legislation that became the state Building Performance Standard, Beneficial Electrification and Clean Heat requirements on investor owned utilities, and served as a co-founder of the Beneficial Electrification League of Colorado. Prior to joining the City & County of Denver, Samantha was part of the Carbon-Free Buildings program at the Rocky Mountain Institute, focused on building electrification work in New England.
