He is passionate about mentoring and, at the Institute of Management Accountants, helped establish the Backpack to Briefcase Series at the Student Conference. He has spoken to groups over the years about personal brand, business etiquette, and generations in the workplace.

Stephen earned his B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. His first career was an Elementary School Teacher in Texas for six years.  Before associations, he worked in the tech and financial services industries in different leadership capacities such as training, marketing, and customer service. He believes association executives should practice what they preach about member engagement, so he is very engaged in the Colorado Society of Association Executives.

Being a Military Brat, Stephen has moved around his entire life exploring new cities, living in 7 cities since graduation from University. He has visited all 50 states and numerous countries on three other continents. He loves to travel and participate in outdoor activities with friends, which is what brought him to Colorado. His dream vacations are the Galapagos Islands and Australia/New Zealand. He has done volunteer work in the past with the American Cancer Society, The Wounded Warriors Project, and different HIV/Aids organizations in the places he resided. He is very close with his family, which keeps him rooted in Texas, in spite of all his exploring.
