Ted Leighty is the Chief Executive Officer for the Colorado Association of Home Builders (CAHB) and the HBA of Metro Denver. He has been with CAHB since November of 2017 and the HBA of Metro Denver since December of 2020.
Previously, Mr. Leighty served as Vice President of Government Affairs for the Colorado Association of Realtors (CAR), where he directed the public policy efforts of the Association. He also held the positions of Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager for CAR.
Mr. Leighty has served as an aide to members of both the Colorado General Assembly and United States House of Representatives.
He is a past member of the Littleton Historical Preservation Board. He has also supported, both financially and with his time, several civic and charitable organizations. He is the immediate-past chair of the Colorado Real Estate Alliance, a past-chair of the Colorado Competitive Council, and current board member of HomeAid Colorado.
A native Coloradan born in Boulder, Mr. Leighty was raised in Minnesota and Oklahoma but returned to Colorado as soon as he could; he currently resides with his family in Littleton, CO. He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Colorado in Political Science and Public Administration.
