Serving as Senior Vice President for Brookfield Properties Corporation’s Midwest and Mountain Region for the past nine years. David Sternberg oversees leasing,   management, and construction of more than six million square feet of premier downtown office properties and retail spaces in Denver and Minneapolis including Republic Plaza and the newly acquired 1801 California in Denver, CO.

During a 30 year commercial real estate career, he has also held management positions with major real estate investment and property management companies in Chicago and Philadelphia. Active in numerous civic leadership roles, Sternberg is Chair of the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District, Trustee for the Minneapolis Foundation,  Denver Civic Venture Board Member, Past Chair of Minneapolis Downtown Council, and works closely with elected officials, civic leaders and arts organizations.

Originally from the Chicago area, Sternberg is currently a resident of Minneapolis, MN.  He and his wife Robin Sternberg, a community leader and serves as Governor Dayton’s Executive Director for the Initiative on Job Growth in Minnesota. They have three children, twins Max and Ethan, age 12, and Charlie, age 10.
