Aviation services company Sheltair Aviation has broken ground on a 21-acre, state-of-theart complex at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Jefferson County.
The fixed-base operator service facility will include a new terminal, hangar and build-to-suit office space opportunities, along with 10 acres of aircraft parking. It marks Sheltair’s first FBO presence west of the Mississippi River.
The $20 million facility is slated for completion next year and will employ approximately 20 people. Tectonic Management is the design-builder, and Project One, a division of Cumming, is providing project management and owner’s representation.
The complex will include a 10,000-square-foot FBO facility with parking for 120 cars. Additional features are a covered aircraft canopy that can accommodate large-cabin-class aircraft, and first-class pilot and guest amenities. When completed, Sheltair’s Hangar A will provide a total of 35,000 sf of space, including 5,000 sf of build-to-suit office space.
