A Dallas-based hotel development company is checking into the Denver market with plans for a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Broomfield.
Fayth Hospitality Group LLC, led by hotel industry veterans Greg Fay and Randy Churchey, expects to break ground on the 107-suite hotel at 505 Zang St. this summer. Opening is targeted for summer 2020.
“We like the demographics of the Denver market – certainly the job and population growth,” said Fay. Those factors, combined with a good balance of corporate and leisure travel demand, made sense for an extended-stay hotel, he said.
Fay is a fan of the Home2 Suites product, whose amenities include free breakfast, bright and spacious lobbies for relaxing or working, outdoor lounge areas, and in-suite kitchens and work areas.
“Hilton got it right when they designed Home2 Suites with what they call the ‘working wall,’ a set of shelves and countertops with drawers that just make the room work well,” he said.
“A lot of people stay for a week or two for training, and to have that setup along the wall really enables them to feel like they’re home. I have stayed in them multiple times and I was hooked the first time I stayed there.”
The four-story hotel will have an attached building with a “nice indoor pool.” It also will be located on an oversized site, “So, we’ll have more than normal outdoor space available to our guests,” Fay commented.
Rates will be competitive with other, similar hotels in the market, according to Fay.
Fayth Hospitality, which also is undertaking Home2 Suites projects in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, is looking at additional hospitality opportunities in the Midwest and Southwest, including the Denver region.
EBCO General Contractor Ltd. will construct the Broomfield hotel. Architventure Group is the architect.
