Partners Group opens its Colorado campus, built by Swinerton Builders
Asked if there were any site challenges, Swinerton’s Chad Holajter said, “The biggest challenge was taking the vision of a 100-year-old factory building and making it a reality through modern materials and methods.
“Open Studio Architecture took a unique vision that Partners Group had for their campus and was able to put it on paper for Swinerton and our subcontractors to build,” continued Holajter, Swinerton’s senior project manager. “Brick plays an important role in achieving this vision, so large masonry mockups were key to ensuring everyone was pleased with the direction the design was taking for this once-in-a-lifetime project. Sourcing energy-efficient glazing that gave the appearance of single-pane windows found in turn-of-the-century factories provided an interesting, yet fun, challenge.”
Partners Group broke ground on the Colorado building in December 2017 and completed the first phase of building in May. The campus, christened “the Factory” in a nod to its industrial design heritage, features several buildings with extensive open plan office space and amenities, including a training facility and subterranean parking.
Approximately 700,000 tumbled bricks make up the exterior and interior of the buildings, Holajter added.
“We could not be more proud to open the doors of Partners Group’s new Colorado campus – a building that signals our firm’s long-term commitment to the Americas,” said David Layton, Partners Group’s co-chief executive officer.
Steffen Meister, executive chairman, Partners Group, added: “Our intention was to build an industrial-style campus that symbolizes our core values of being responsible and hands-on partners to the businesses that we invest in on behalf of our clients, and we have achieved that.”
Prime West Development LLC is the developer.
Swinerton and Open Studio Architecture previously worked together on The Circa Building located at 16th and Platte streets. Swinerton built the AMG National Trust Bank headquarters building in Greenwood Village with Prime West.
