Anne Bertsch is Vice President, North America Full Service Development for Marriott International, Inc., based in Denver, Colorado and Scottsdale, Arizona. Ms. Bertsch is responsible for building and executing strategic plans for growing Marriott’s full-service brands in the western United States. In addition to sourcing and evaluating potential opportunities, she manages and oversees numerous internal disciplines responsible for supporting various aspects of hotel development projects. In connection with these projects, Ms. Bertsch negotiates transaction documents such as management agreements, franchise agreements, residential license agreements, and agreements providing financial deal support, such as operating profit guaranties, debt service guaranties and mezzanine loans.

Previously, Ms. Bertsch was Vice President & Assistant General Counsel for Marriott, and in that capacity she negotiated management and related agreements for new hotel development deals, hotel management agreement restructurings and workouts, mezzanine loan and other financing transactions, corporate-owned acquisitions and dispositions, condominium-hotel, mixed-use and residential development transactions, and other hotel-related transactions. Prior to joining Marriott, Ms. Bertsch was an associate with the law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in Washington, DC, where she practiced corporate law.

Ms. Bertsch earned a B.S., magna cum laude, in 1993 from the University of Delaware and earned her law degree, magna cum laude, in 1998 from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a member of the Colorado Bar, the Maryland Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
