Clayton Mitchell currently leads delivery of facilities design, construction, operations/maintenance, and real estate services for all Kaiser Permanente facilities based in Colorado and the Mid Atlantic States (Maryland, DC, Virginia).   This role includes oversight of over six million square feet of clinical, administrative, lab, and support spaces in over 85 facilities supporting 1.1M Kaiser Permanente members.

Clayton (AKA Mitch) completed a 25-year career as a Civil Engineer Corps officer in the United States Navy prior to Kaiser Permanente.  He was responsible for delivery of facilities infrastructure products and services for Navy and Marine Corps installations throughout the globe.  Mitch’s experiences span the spectrum of infrastructure life-cycle management functions to include programming, planning, design, construction, operations & maintenance, real estate, and environmental.  Considered a Navy expert in energy, sustainability, asset management, and organizational leadership, he has also served in executive level positions such as Military Legislative Assistant to the Senate Majority Leader and Executive Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Installations and Facilities).

Mitch is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (BS Industrial Engineering), the University of California at Berkeley (MS Construction Management), and has completed an Executive Education Program at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College.  He is also a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Certified Energy Manager.
