Don Brennan is a Principal, Managing Broker, co-founder, and real estate investor at RIO Real Estate (“RIO”), a fully integrated commercial real estate investment, management, and operating company. Since co-founding RIO in 2006, Don has helped grow the organization into one of Colorado’s leading commercial real estate firms, managing more than 6.25 million square feet of commercial and multifamily real estate including over 2,000 multifamily units. Today, RIO is the sixth-largest commercial property management company in Colorado and employs more than 130 professionals across its family of companies. In addition to real estate ownership and management, the organization includes Peak Mechanical, a full-service commercial HVAC and plumbing company serving more than 850 commercial clients, and State Street Properties, which provides maintenance, make-ready, landscaping, and snow removal services for more than 200 commercial and residential properties throughout Colorado. Don has also been an active real estate investor in the Denver metropolitan area for more than 20 years, acquiring, owning, and operating multifamily and commercial real estate investments with a long-term, value-oriented approach.
Over the course of his career, Don has built and led businesses spanning commercial real estate investment, property operations, commercial and wholesale mortgage banking, and sales consulting for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to co-founding RIO, he served as Director of National Sales for Qwest Wireless and US West Wireless, where he led more than 250 employees and managed over $100 million in annual revenue. He also spent a decade leading sales organizations throughout the United States and Australia, developing high-performing teams and driving sustained business growth.
Don’s leadership philosophy combines operational excellence, disciplined investing, and strategic thinking to build enduring businesses, exceptional teams, and long-term value for investors, clients, employees, and the communities RIO serves. Don holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Real Estate and the Built Environment from the University of Denver.
