Jim DiRienzo is Senior Vice President of Investments and Asset Management at Griffis Residential. Jim oversees all Griffis Residential’s acquisition, disposition and asset management activities. In addition to those duties, Jim is a member of Griffis Residential’s Senior Management Council, Environmental Social, Governance (‘ESG’) Committee and heads the company’s Investment Committee.
In his more than 12 years with Griffis Residential, Jim has acquired over 13,500 units totaling more than $3 billion in transaction volume. Additionally, Jim has directed the disposition of over 8,500 units totaling more than $2.2 billion in transaction volume. Active in helping form the company’s investment strategy, Jim has led the expansion from Griffis Residential’s home market of Denver to Seattle, Austin, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Portland and the Bay Area. Prior to Griffis Residential, Mr. DiRienzo spent seven years at Northmarq Capital helping to place debt and joint venture equity across all product types of commercial real estate.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Finance from the Colorado State University as well as a minor in History. Jim also holds a seat on the Denver Metro Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Committee as well as a seat with Opportunity Austin. Jim is active with Denver’s The Greenway Foundation’s Gala Committee; a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leads efforts towards reclaiming Denver’s South Platte River. Finally, Jim is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and has been a member of the Urban Land Institute since 2010.
