Jay has been in the residential construction industry for over 15 years. Prior to joining the Thrive team Mr. Garcia was the Director of Planning and Senior Project Manager for a master plan community developer; a Professor and Lecturer at the University of Colorado College of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Design; and, a Planner and Project Manager for Adams County Planning & Development.

Since joining the team in 2014, Jay has managed acquisition, design, entitlements and land development for multiple award-winning communities; implemented strategic planning methodologies for project feasibility and product research; organized and directed diverse cross-functional consultant teams and facilitated overall company growth and record-breaking profits in 2018.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Architecture/Environmental Design (BEnvd) from the University of Colorado Boulder; a Master of Urban & Regional Planning (MURP), and a Master of Urban Design (MUD), both from the University of Colorado Denver.
