Architectural and Urban Designer, Urban Planner, at Community Planning & Development Lilly Djaniants is a Principal Urban Designer with the City and County of Denver, where she spearheaded the Downtown Area Plan Amendment, Downtown Design Standards and Guidelines, and the FAR Northeast Area Plan Amendment. She manages the Cherry Creek North Design Advisory Board and oversees many design reviews throughout the city. Djaniants also manage feasibility analyses in infrastructure improvements like revisioning of Speer Blvd, and economic development strategies based on placemaking principles that reinvigorate urban places such as Downtown Reimagined. Simultaneously, Djaniants teaches graduate studios at CU Denver, in architecture, urban design, and planning. She has 18 years of experience in leadership roles in visioning, managing, and designing complex Urban Design, City Planning, Master Planning, and Architecture projects, working in public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors in Denver, New York City, and Yerevan. Concentration in long-term master plan and area plan developments, neighborhood planning, regional planning, development of regulatory packages, as well as high-end architectural design and construction management. Prior to Denver, she was working for the IDeA Foundation and Tim Flynn Architects, a London-based firm in Yerevan. Lilly was involved in various projects within IDeA including spearheading master planning of the city of Dilijan in Armenia a $1.5 billion project, the development of a new Eco-Village in Nagorno-Karabakh, a $20 million project, and various other infrastructure improvement and economic development projects. Lilly is a Luys Scholar and a graduate of Columbia University where she received a master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design. She is a recipient of the Kinne Fellowship for her post-graduate work on how urban development can begin to initiate both economic and political stability in the post-conflict territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
