Matt Turner joined MorningStar Senior Living in 2009 as Chief Financial & Development Officer, a position he held until 2016. Ken and Matt share a passion for service to seniors and to underprivileged populations throughout the world, and their complimentary skills have helped propel MorningStar to national prominence as an integrated developer, owner and operator of first-class senior living. In 2011, Matt formed Ovation, MorningStar’s affiliated real estate investment and development company. Matt has overseen the growth of MorningStar’s portfolio from 490 units in four operating properties to nearly 3,000 units in over 25 operating and pipeline properties throughout the country. Prior to MorningStar, Matt held a senior position for a real estate development company focused on senior living, where he was responsible for a team covering asset management, capital structuring, underwriting, disposition activities, corporate finance and investor relations.

Projects under his supervision totaled more than $900 million. Matt’s earlier career included investment and corporate finance positions for Black Creek Group, a multi-billion dollar real estate private equity firm based in Denver, Colorado. Matt began his career in tax strategy and consulting at Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen. He is a certified public accountant (inactive) and completed undergraduate and graduate studies in accounting and business.
