Colorado Real Estate Journal is pleased to announce the keynote speaker for its April 17th Senior Housing and Care Conference. Megan Carnarius, internationally-renowned author and speaker on dementia and memory care, will kick-off the conference with an inspiring presentation on successful operation of memory care residences.
With a doubling of memory care assisted living inventory in Colorado over the past few years, many properties are struggling to meet their occupancy and revenue goals. Just in the three years from 2016 through 2018, memory care bed capacity in Colorado will increase by nearly 1,500 beds in 39 new properties. Competition is intense for residents and quality staff and will grow even more difficult. Responding to this extraordinarily difficult competitive environment, Megan’s keynote address will focus on unique strategies to attract and retain staff, as well as how to deliver on the promise of quality care for residents.
Author of the recently-published book, A Deeper Perspective on Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias, Megan is in great demand as a speaker, having presented to tens of thousands of participants nationally as a keynote speaker, lecturer and trainer over the past 30 years. Megan’s knowledge is always conveyed with warmth, humor, and obvious love for individuals with dementia and their families and caregivers. From presentations at the World Alzheimer’s Association to trainings at individual memory care residences, Megan inspires professionals to do the very important and special work of caring for those with memory loss.
