Paul Lundeen is a legislative leader, entrepreneur, and team builder whose career spans more than three decades across journalism, public service, and business. He is widely recognized for
his leadership on education choice and parent empowerment, and for advancing policies grounded in freedom, opportunity, and personal responsibility.

Paul is the CEO and President of the American Excellence Foundation (AEF), a national network of investors working to expand free enterprise, liberty, and responsibility while promoting constitutional order. AEF operates upstream of politics and policy, investing in long-term cultural and institutional excellence that strengthens civil society.

Paul recently retired from the Colorado State Senate, where he served as Minority Leader. During his legislative career, he also represented constituents in the Colorado House of
Representatives and served on the Colorado State Board of Education, including as Chairman through December 2014. In those roles, he became a leading advocate for student choice and
system transformation. His education philosophy is rooted in equal opportunity—ensuring that all students, not just those from affluent families, have access to great schools and customized
learning pathways that meet their individual needs.

Paul is also a lifelong entrepreneur. In 2010, he founded Arkenstone Financial, an independent registered investment advisory firm, and remains a co-owner. With teams based in Colorado,
California, and Texas, Arkenstone provides risk-managed, custom portfolio solutions to high-net-worth individuals and foundations. The firm is dedicated to independent fiduciary advice for clients who are both growth-oriented and risk-sensitive.

Earlier in his career, Paul wrapped up a successful run in broadcasting as a Washington correspondent for the Harriscope Broadcast Group, holding White House credentials while covering national politics. Over the course of 30 years in business, he has helped found and lead companies throughout the Western United States, spanning real estate development and management, learning and tutoring centers, national and international marketing, golf course association landscape management, investment management, and business consulting. Across every endeavor, Paul is known for building strong teams and aligning mission, strategy, and execution.

Paul is a graduate of New York University, where he studied journalism and economics. His work—whether in education reform, public policy, philanthropy, or business—reflects a consistent commitment to leadership, opportunity, and building institutions that endure.
