Tom has been Executive Director of St. Francis Center for 30 years. During those years he has help the Center expand its programs and services to the people the Center serves, more than 500 different people each day ( over 10,000 people each year). Programs like Street Outreach (housing 125 people each year), Health Clinic, Wellness Office (mental health) housing (have over 120 apartments), case management (helping over 200 people find housing each year), employment office (finding jobs each year for over 400 people), as well as providing life changing day services with storage, showers, clothing, and safe space, have all grown to meet the increasing demand during Tom’s tenure.

Tom has served on many community boards. Tom was part of a founding board for the Delores Project in 2000, and was the Vice President of that board in the early years of their existence. He helped start WHI (Women’s Homelessness Initiative) in 2011, and has supported their efforts over the years by St. Francis Center’s coordination efforts with the women each day. He was on the initial Denver’s Road Home Board in 2014 which helped expand services for people experiencing homelessness. He served on the Board and was the president of MDHI ( Metro Denver Homeless Initiative). He served on the board of Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, an organization that helps young adults serve people in poverty in the Denver area. He was a founding member, board member, and officer of Housing Justice, an advocacy group that brought Faith communities into the work of creating affordable housing. He presently serves on the Homeless Leadership Council of Denver. He continues to advocate for those in our community who have no voice.

Tom has been supported, counseled, and loved by his wife, Heather and their children. He has served with many great people on his staff, board, community leaders, and volunteers who have been examples to him as well as friends.
