Market Station: Creating a Community, Not Just a Place
For most of 2020, COVID-19 cut off the lifelines of our center city. Conventions were canceled, business travelers were grounded, and most offices were under stay-at-home protocols. While people rediscovered their back yards and turned spare bedrooms into makeshift offices, those involved in construction kept making the trek downtown every day to complete several large new projects, which were well underway when the pandemic took hold. Some large surprises will greet people when restrictions are finally lifted.

December 14, 2020Kiewit: Leading the Way in a Long Line of Lasting Legacies Since 1884
As the close of the century approached, the firm began taking on sizable commissions, including the masonry of the seven-story Lincoln Hotel and leading construction on the Bekins warehouse as a general contractor in 1900. The partnership between the two brothers lasted some 20 years before they agreed to dissolve it in 1904.

June 14, 2020Stantec to develop regional headquarters campus for Kiewit Corp. in RidgeGate
Stantec is serving as the architect and interior designer for the new regional headquarters campus for Kiewit Corp. The approximately 400,000-square-foot office complex is designed to accommodate more than 1,700 employees. Stantec is also providing landscape architecture and lighting design for the facility. Kiewit Building Group is leading construction as the general contractor for the project.
