McWhinney enters Longmont market with Clovis Point

Clovis Point is intended to evoke a “Scandinavian mountain resort-inspired feel.”

A 208-unit apartment community off the Diagonal Highway in Longmont is set to deliver its first units in mid-2020.

Clovis Point is McWhinney’s first development in Longmont, a community it has been eyeing for some time.

“McWhinney has been exploring various development opportunities in Longmont over a number of years, so we are pleased to have recently broken ground on Clovis Point,” said David Jaudes, vice president of multifamily development.

“The city of Longmont has been a great partner in this project, which will deliver the first units next summer. As a long-term owner and operator of multifamily real estate, we feel fundamentals support an apartment project in this location that will cater to both Longmont and North Boulder businesses and residents.” Clovis Point’s 11 buildings will be located on 8 acres at the southeast corner of Hover Street and Pike Road, near shopping, dining, parks and trails, Front Range Community College and major employers.

Apartments will range from 560-sf studios to 1,252-sf, three-bedroom apartments. There also will be a selection of 1,400-sf townhome units.

An acre of the site will be devoted to open green space with outdoor amenities including grills, fire pits, entertainment space, a pool and spa, central green/park space, an “alpine” pond, family play area and dog park.

The three-story community, designed in partnership with Hord Coplan Macht Architects, will feature an alpine inspired, two-story clubhouse to include mail pickup with parcel lockers, a community kitchen, multiple lounge areas that include a 360-degree vapor fireplace, a library, coworking spaces, Fitness on Demand and yoga.

“The architecture of Clovis Point is intended to evoke a comfortable Scandinavian mountain resort-inspired feel,” said Kirsty Greer, McWhinney director of multifamily development. “The innovative design and engaging amenities will serve as an extension to the great Colorado outdoors. The vision is to provide future residents with a variety of housing options in a contemporary home with luxury finishes and a local community lifestyle that has yet to be offered in the Longmont area.”

Clovis Point will bring the number of apartment units McWhinney has developed in Colorado to more than 3,800. The company plans an additional 2,000 units in the near future.
