Construction projects in Denver have been able to continue despite the challenges of COVID-19.

Elsy Studios, a Denver-based full-service commercial interior design firm, announced the completion of the design of Yes Communities’ new Denver headquarters. The 35,000-square-foot office space sits on the top floor of the newly built 5050 S. Syracuse St. building in the Denver Tech Center.

Alliance Construction Solutions recently topped out the Sheridan Station Apartments, an eight-story affordable housing project in west Denver. Designed by Johnson Nathan Strohe, the $29 million project is being developed by Mile High Development and Brinshore Development.

Howell Construction and Perkins+Will recently completed the state of Colorado’s Auraria Higher Education Center | Metropolitan State University locker room and bleacher renovation project located in the heart of downtown Denver. The project was built in the occupied PE/ Events Center on the AHEC campus.

Denver International Airport recently announced that construction has recommenced on the Great Hall Project, with Stantec serving as lead designer. The work will include a renovation of the airport’s Jeppesen Terminal to create an airport for the future with enhanced safety and security, a more intuitive passenger flow and increased capacity to accommodate continued growth.

Swinerton Builders recently demoed the site and began prep work in order to go vertical later this year on the World Trade Center Denver (hotel, office and parking structure), which will be in the River North neighborhood. Formativ, a Denver-based real estate development firm specializing in transformative mixed-use and commercial projects, and Memphis, Tennessee-based Kemmons Wilson Cos., are co-owners and developers of the 240,000-square-foot hospitality tower. Golub & Co., based in Chicago with a local office in RiNo, is partnering with Formativ on the 350,000-sf office building.

The remodeled facility will include a new six-lane lap pool with adjacent aqua-exercise pool, wave pool with lazy river and bubble pit, activity pool with zero-depth entry, play structure, geysers and sprays, two water slides and 20-person therapeutic hydro-jet spa.

Design-build team Hord Coplan Macht and Haselden Construction are underway on Front Range Community College’s new Health Care Careers Center. The 61,000-gross-square-foot center located on the Larimer campus in Fort Collins consolidates the college’s health sciences programs into one state-of-the-art facility that accommodates a multidisciplinary health care curriculum to address key health care workforce needs in Northern Colorado.
