That same year, the first new high-rise in more than 30 years was constructed at 1144 15th St. While construction volume reduced slightly in 2019, several additional tall buildings are under construction or in the city’s current planning pipeline.

Former Denver Medical Depot to undergo adaptive reuse, designed by Tryba

Tryba Architects is the lead designer in the renovation and adaptive reuse of the former Denver Medical Depot, which is located at East 38th Avenue and Steele Street in Denver’s Clayton neighborhood. ScanlanKemperBard recently purchased the 482,700-square-foot industrial warehouse, which sits on a 32-acre site, for $76.6 million. Hyder Construction is the general contractor tapped for the project, which will begin this spring.

Weitz breaks ground on $87 million development

Weitz recently broke ground on Apartment Investment and Management Co.’s latest phase at 21 Fitzsimons: 253 homes on the site of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. The new development will be in close proximity to 21 Fitzsimons Apartment Homes, a 600-apartment-home community that Aimco acquired in 2014.

Tryba-designed Buell Public Media Center set for groundbreaking

Rocky Mountain Public Media has raised $14 million in 12 months to put it on track for Mortenson Construction to break ground in August for the new headquarters, the Buell Public Media Center, in Denver’s Arapahoe Square.
